Data ShipGate Processes

ShipGate processes the information needed to provide the service: GitHub repository names, pull request numbers, pull request titles, commit SHAs, supported pull request diffs, generated quiz content, quiz attempts, and pass/fail status updates. ShipGate supports public repositories and explicitly allowlisted private repositories in the free beta.

How Data Is Used

ShipGate uses end-user data only to provide, secure, debug, and support the app. ShipGate does not sell personal data and does not use personal data to advertise third-party goods or services.

AI and Service Providers

Supported pull request diffs may be sent to an AI model provider to generate quiz questions. ShipGate also uses infrastructure providers for hosting, database storage, GitHub App authentication, status updates, and support. These providers are used only to operate ShipGate.

Retention

ShipGate retains stored pull request diffs and quiz records for up to 30 days unless longer retention is required for abuse prevention, security investigation, debugging, legal obligations, or user support. You can request deletion by emailing legal@shipgate.me.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, including under GDPR or CCPA-style privacy laws, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection to certain processing. Email legal@shipgate.me to make a request.

Security

ShipGate uses GitHub App authentication, GitHub Actions OIDC verification, webhook signatures, and public repository checks to limit access and reduce misuse. No hosted service can guarantee perfect security.

Changes

ShipGate may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating this page and effective date.
